Hello
I’m Ozgur
Gulkokan

A decent man who has experience in many different sectors, loves research, cares about details.

About

A truth is to be known always, to be uttered sometimes.

Khalil Gibran

If a job is to be done, it should be done well; and if it’s going to be done well, it should be done as well as possible!

I have experience primarily in mechanical installation and modern&technological greenhouses, as well as in sectors such as elevators and the automotive industry.

I believe that good work is done with good people. I know that working with a team that speaks the same language and applies analytical thinking at every stage of the process will lead to faster results.

I’ll say what I believe to be true and I correct myself if I’m wrong. I advocate for every task to be taken seriously and carried out with integrity. I know that details matter in many areas. I act authentically. I enjoy researching and learning new knowledge.

What/Who are you (we) looking for?

Hello!

These days, cover letters in job applications have become little more than standard output from AI tools, rather than a means for candidates to express themselves. As an engineer who values grammar, coherence, and—most importantly—the thought behind the words, I wrote this text to convey exactly what’s on my mind.

As a mechanical engineer, the way I use the Turkish language cannot, on its own, serve as a direct measure of my technical expertise or my ability to solve problems in the field. Just as a soccer coach evaluates a player not at a desk but by watching the game they play on the field, an employee’s true potential can only be seen while they are actually on the job.

Unfortunately, in today’s digital application processes, we are forced to condense ourselves into a few pages, and we cannot present concrete, “on-the-ground” evidence of how seriously we take our work at this stage. However, ensuring the right person is placed in the right team is of critical importance for both your company and professionals like me who add value to their work.

At the conclusion of any potential introductory meeting following this letter, the conversation will inevitably turn to salary expectations. My approach to this matter is clear: The financial compensation for a role with clearly defined scope and boundaries is the most tangible indicator of the employer’s valuation of that role and its objectives. I am a candidate who will respond to a role of high value and importance with the same level of seriousness and a strong sense of responsibility.

I aim to work with managers at your company who focus on how I address issues and technical challenges—and how I generate solutions—rather than just paying lip service.

Thank you for your time, and I wish you continued success.

Yours sincerely,

Until now, only “Who are you?” I did not know what to answer to those who asked.
